Working with Robots? Why the International Robot Safety Conference is a Can’t-Miss Event
The International Robot Safety Conference (IRSC), hosted by the Association for Advancing Automation (A3), provides an opportunity for attendees of all experience levels to examine key issues in robot safety, explore current industry standards, and learn about best practices.
In advance of this year’s conference, which is being held Oct 9-11, 2023 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, we asked three leading robot safety experts to reveal the safety topics that they’re most looking forward to exploring at the event.
R15.08, American National Standard for Industrial Mobile Robots -- Safety Requirements -- Part 2: Requirements for IMR system(s) and IMR application(s) is a companion document to R15.08-1 and builds upon the safety requirements for the IMRS contained in R15.08-1.
This all-new American National Standard will be available for purchase this coming Fall. If you'd like to make sure you're notified when published, please fill out the form below.
R15.08-2-2023 is a good first step toward ensuring the safe integration practices for industrial mobile robots and will be a solid foundation for future work in this area.
This new standard provides the IMR systems and systems integration requirements for industrial mobile robots (IMRs). Part 1 provides safety requirements for the IMR; Part 3 of this standard will provide safety requirements for IMR users.
This Industrial Mobile Robotics Safety course will introduce the safety protocols and best practices for working with mobile robots in industrial settings. This course emphasizes the critical importance of ensuring the well-being of personnel, equipment, and products when deploying and operating mobile robots. Participants will be introduced to the various safety standards, risk assessment methodologies and safety guidelines specific to industrial mobile robotics applications.
