A Guide to Vision Language Models:

Emerging Trends and Applications

Artificial intelligence isn't just advancing rapidly across industries; it's also becoming a routine part of how people work. According to Gallup, 43% of public-sector employees reported using AI at least a few times a year in the fourth quarter of 2025, up from just 17% in the second quarter of 2023. Among private-sector employees, the figure stood at a similar 41%.

But the speed at which AI is evolving can make it difficult to predict where the technology is headed next, particularly when it comes to emerging technologies such as vision-language models, or VLMs.
