Mobile robotic applications, however, are particularly challenging when multicamera, multimodal solutions are required to adapt to an ever-changing environment. The former leads to long development cycles, increasing robot total cost of ownership. The latter leads to reduced availability of the fleet, decreasing throughput.
A3 membership will elect candidates who hold a position of industry leadership. Board members are expected to attend up to four Board meetings each year – for full details on the responsibilities of a board member, please review the Roles & Responsibilities of the A3 Technology Strategy Boards document.
The 2023-2024 Board of Directors will take office on January 19, 2023.

Identifying the Problem that AI Can Solve with Rapid Robotics' Juan Aparicio
In the third of our series of A3 interviews with AI leaders, Juan Aparicio, VP of Product at Rapid Robotics, discusses AI use cases in manufacturing, with an emphasis on robotic manipulation. Aparicio, who sits on A3's Artificial Intelligence Technology Strategy Board, recommends identifying and understanding the problem before jumping into discussions around which tool or technology to use. Check out his advice on using robotics-as-a-service and the right partner to start automating in your facility. And, you can get more of Juan's advice on September 29 in Columbus, Ohio at the AI & Smart Automation Conference.
Demand for robotics is at an all-time high and robot safety is paramount to your success. Hosted by the Association for Advancing Automation, the International Robot Safety Conference (IRSC) will offer conference sessions and workshops that examine key issues in robot safety and provides an in-depth overview of current industry standards and best practices.
This revolution goes by many names: Industry 4.0, The Factory of the Future, Smart Manufacturing, the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). No matter the label, this transformation will touch every aspect of the automation ecosystem, from product design to manufacturing processes to the delivery at a customer’s door. This packed, one-day AI & Smart Automation Conference will help start your journey to unlock the power of AI by featuring discussions on data strategy, advances in AI robotics and machine vision, and AI-powered optimization and prediction.
